Congregation Agudath Sholom

About us

Congregation Agudath Sholom is a modern orthodox shul that is lots more than just a shul. It is a warm and active center of Jewish life, offering a wide range of religious, educational, and social activities serving Jews of all ages, backgrounds and commitments. Stamford is well known to be a community that is particularly warm and hospitable, inclusive, and very non-judgmental about religious differences. Our growth-oriented community is made up of families with kids of all ages, retirees, young couples and singles–really people of all ages and stages and is experiencing tremendous growth in recent years.
Stamford has an out-of-town feel, yet is still very close to New York City giving the best of all worlds in terms of access to all sorts of Jewish communal and other infrastructure. Having a Yoetzet Halacha in Stamford has been an incredible resource for our women and families. She is an educator in our community who is a role model, empowering women and girls with Torah knowledge and inspiration. She has developed relationships with many women in our community, and is truly accessible, which has increased their comfort level in asking questions, allowing them to observe the important mitzvah of Taharat Hamishpacha in the most positive way.
