About us

Congregation Beth Sholom is proud to be a member of the New England Yoetzet Halacha Initiative. As a member of this initiative, we are able to provide the entire Rhode Island Jewish community with access to our Yoetzet Halacha, Sarah Cheses. Our Yoetzet provides unique and sophisticated programming to our community and serves as an incredible resource on Taharat Hamishpacha and its intersection with women’s health, including fertility issues, pregnancy loss, and marital intimacy. The programming organized by the Yoetzet Committee brings in both our members and many non-members, in a way that other synagogue programming does not. Providing both our members and the broader Jewish community with access to a Yoetzet Halacha is in line with our vision to be a Modern Orthodox hub that is relevant, empowering, and inclusive.
